Workshop

Format

Using a mix of lecturing, group discussion, exercises, and self-study, this four-day workshop significantly improves participants’ ability to analyze, evaluate, and produce natural language arguments, assisted by the online argument-mapping tool RATIONALE, with a special focus on policy-related argumentation.

Learning outcomes

Outcomes include improved reasoning skills, an improved ability to write argumentative texts, and to evaluate own and others’ arguments critically.

Participants gain insights into basic concepts of argumentation theory as well as foundational knowledge of (deductive and inductive) logic and dialectics.
